NOTE: If your are currently using GRIB2 0.5 degrees icing/turbulence layers, you will have to switch to the 0.25 degree GRIB2 files coming from the EFH stack.
DTN hosts a proprietary suite of Flight Hazards forecast data that can be used for improved flight planning or situational awareness. The Enhanced Flight Hazards (EFH) dataset includes forecasts for:
-
Eddy Dissipation Rate Turbulence
-
Airfoil-specific Icing
-
Global Thunderstorm Updraft
The Flight Hazards data is available via GRIB2 format and also via a contoured polygon shape and GeoJSON files.
In addition, DTN’s Flight Hazard information can be access via the WeatherSentry API.
